OUR MISSION STATEMENT
As a people of God called to share in the divine life through the birth, life, death and resurrection of God's only son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ and continuing His mission by the presence and power of the Holy Spirit, we, gather to form the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit in Carterville, Illinois.
We strive to continue the mission and ministry of Christ's Church, which is a sacramental sign of His presence and activity in the world, by the following: Proclaiming the Word of God, Celebrating the Liturgy, Serving the People, Building Community.
We devote ourselves to the transmission of the Faith as we have received it through Sacred Scripture and Tradition, and strive to live it by word and example with the Grace of God. By all the virtues, especially those of Faith, Hope, and Charity, may be found to be faithful witnesses of our Lord, Jesus Christ, as the Reign of God is realized in the hearts and minds of all throughout the world.

MERCY PRAYER
Lord Jesus Christ, you have taught us to be merciful like the heavenly Father, and told us that whoever sees you sees God. Show us your face and we will be saved. You are the visible face of the invisible Father, of the God who manifests his power above all by forgiveness and mercy: let the Church be your visible face in the world. Send your Spirit and consecrate every one of us with its anointing, so that the Jubilee of Mercy may be a year of grace from the Lord, and your Church, with renewed enthusiasm, may bring good news to the poor, proclaim liberty to captives and the oppressed, and restore sight to the blind. AMEN
